Tenure — frequently asked questions

Tenure pays a token's verified holders on their exchange account for every day they keep holding. 46 questions in English, followed by a Russian section. Last updated: 2026-09-03.

What Tenure is

What is Tenure?

Tenure is holder-rewards infrastructure for tokens listed on centralized exchanges. A token project funds a USDT pool, and KYC-verified holders who keep the token on their exchange account earn a share of that pool in proportion to how much they held and for how long. Tokens never move; holders only connect a read-only API key.

What problem does Tenure solve?

For most tokens the price peaks on listing day because early holders sell. Airdrops are sold on claim, quest platforms count wallets rather than holders, and on-chain tools cannot see exchange balances. Tenure pays for the one thing that matters after listing: fewer sellers for longer, measured as balance × time from verified people.

Is Tenure a quest platform, an airdrop tool or a market maker?

No. Tenure does not run tasks, does not distribute tokens and does not trade. It only measures holding time on an exchange account and splits a USDT pool by it. It is best described as hold-to-earn or token-retention marketing for exchange-listed tokens.

Who is behind Tenure?

Tenure is an independent platform available at tenure.one. It works with exchanges through their public APIs and does not belong to any exchange or token project.

Which exchanges does Tenure support?

MEXC first. Its API exposes KYC status, account UID and API-key permissions, which strict verification needs. Other exchanges will be added once they can be verified just as strictly. Each program states its exchange on its program page.

In which languages is Tenure available?

The site and holder app are available in English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and French. The project dashboard is in English.

For token projects

How does a project launch a program?

Create a program in the dashboard: token, exchange, duration (7 to 180 days), pool size, minimum KYC level, minimum balance, an optional per-holder balance cap, and who takes part (all holders or new buyers only). Then fund the pool with USDT. Once the transfer is confirmed, the program is scheduled and the project gets an invite link to the program page to share with holders.

How much does Tenure cost?

One fee: 15% of the pool. There are no plans, no per-seat pricing and no sales calls. The minimum pool is 200 USDT. The other 85% of the pool goes to holders in proportion to tenure.

What is the minimum pool and program length?

The minimum pool is 200 USDT. A program lasts from 7 to 180 days and must start at least one hour after it is submitted.

How is the pool funded?

The project sends USDT to the program address on TRC20 or BEP20 and registers the transfer with its transaction hash. The transfer is confirmed manually, and the program becomes scheduled or active once the confirmed sum reaches the pool size.

What does the project see about holders?

Verified holders by KYC level (Primary, Advanced, Institutional), average tenure and how it changes day by day, how the pool is distributed, and an anonymous holder table with masked UID, KYC level, balance, tenure and payout. The project never sees names, Telegram accounts or API keys.

What is the difference between an all-holders program and a new-buyers program?

In an all-holders program every token on the account counts. In a new-buyers program the balance at the moment of joining becomes a baseline and only tokens bought after that count, so the pool rewards new demand rather than existing positions.

What is a per-holder cap?

An optional limit on the counted balance per holder, set by the project. Large holders still earn, but one account cannot take most of the pool, and splitting a position across accounts gives no advantage because one exchange UID can be connected only once.

Can a program reference price or trading volume?

No. A program can only be defined by balance and time. It cannot mention price, market cap, price growth, trades or turnover. This is a deliberate design choice to stay on the marketing side of the line, not the market-manipulation side.

What happens if nobody finishes the program?

The pool is returned to the project. Tenure never adds participants of its own.

Can a program be changed after it starts?

No. A program can be edited only while it is a draft. Once submitted and funded, the rules on the program page are fixed for the whole program.

Can the project cancel a program?

Cancellation is handled by the operator. Active participants are then disqualified with the reason 'program cancelled' and the pool is settled according to the platform rules.

For holders

How do I earn with Tenure?

Create an API key on your exchange with the Read permission only, paste it into the Tenure app, join a program and keep holding the token. Random balance checks record how much you hold and for how long. When the program ends you receive USDT in proportion to your tenure.

What is tenure?

Tenure is the sum over all balance checks of your eligible balance multiplied by the hours since the previous check. In short: balance × time. Your share of the pool equals your tenure divided by the total tenure of everyone who finished the program.

When are balances checked?

Four to twelve times a day, at random moments. Nobody, including you, can know when the next check happens, so buying right before a check does not work.

What if I sell part of my tokens?

If your balance drops below the program minimum at any check, you are disqualified and lose the tenure you have accrued. If you stay above the minimum, you keep accruing, just on the smaller balance.

Can I leave a program early?

Yes, but leaving before the end date disqualifies you and the accrued tenure is lost.

How and when am I paid?

On the program end date the pool minus the 15% fee is split by tenure and credited in USDT to your Tenure wallet. You can withdraw to a TRC20 or BEP20 address; the minimum withdrawal is 10 USDT.

Can I join with several accounts?

One exchange UID can be connected to Tenure only once, and the same exchange account cannot join twice through two Telegram accounts. Programs also cap the counted balance per holder, so splitting a position gives no advantage.

Do tokens locked in exchange products count?

The balance read through the key is the spot account balance, available plus locked. Tokens that the exchange reports on the spot account count; tokens moved elsewhere do not.

Do I need to move my tokens anywhere?

No. Tokens stay on your own exchange account. Tenure only reads the balance through a read-only key.

How do I log in?

Through Telegram: either from the Telegram Mini App or from the website by pressing Continue with Telegram and confirming in the Tenure bot. One Telegram account equals one Tenure account.

Is Tenure available in my country?

Tenure may not be available in some countries, and the project running a program sets its own eligibility rules. Check the program page before joining.

Security and privacy

Can Tenure trade or withdraw with my API key?

No. Before accepting a key, Tenure asks the exchange what the key is allowed to do and rejects any key with trade, transfer or withdrawal rights. There is no exception. Even if the database were leaked, a read-only key cannot move funds.

What exactly can Tenure do with my key?

Read the spot balance, read the account UID, read the KYC level and read the key's own permissions and validity. Nothing else is possible with a read-only key.

How are API keys stored?

Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is kept outside the database. A key is decrypted only for the moment of a balance check, and the app shows only its last four characters.

Does Tenure verify my identity or see my documents?

No. Your exchange verifies you. Tenure reads only the resulting level: Primary, Advanced or Institutional. No documents, no names.

What are the KYC levels?

Primary means government ID and is the minimum for every program. Advanced adds a liveness check and proof of address; a project can require it. Institutional is corporate verification and is shown separately in the dashboard.

What happens if my KYC level drops or my key stops working?

KYC level and key validity are read again at every balance check. If the level falls below the program requirement, or the key is deleted, frozen or its permissions change, accrual stops immediately and the participation is disqualified.

Should I set an IP whitelist on my API key?

Yes. On MEXC a key without an IP whitelist expires after 90 days, which would invalidate your participation. Follow the key instructions in the app when creating the key.

Is Tenure custodial?

No. Tenure never holds holders' tokens and never holds their exchange funds. Rewards are USDT paid out of the pool the project deposited.

Fairness and legality

Is this market manipulation?

No. Tenure pays openly disclosed rewards for holding, the same way exchanges run their own HODL and launchpool programs. Nothing touches the order book: no trades, no volume, no price references. Every holder sees the full terms on the program page.

Are rewards disclosed?

Yes. Every program has a page at tenure.one/p/<slug>, opened by an invite link the project shares with its holders. It shows the rules, pool, exchange, status and statistics, and states that rewards are marketing payments made by the project. Program pages are not listed or indexed.

Why are balance checks random?

Random timing removes the possibility of buying right before a check and selling right after. Because the time is unknown, the only way to accrue tenure is to actually hold.

How does Tenure prevent fake accounts and sybil farms?

Four layers: the KYC level is read from the exchange; one exchange UID can be connected only once; the project can cap the counted balance per holder; and checks happen at random times. Together they make wallet farms and account splitting pointless.

Is the formula public?

Yes. Tenure = sum of eligible balance × hours across checks; eligible balance = balance minus baseline, limited by the cap. There are no hidden weights and no points for activity.

Comparisons

Tenure vs airdrops

Airdrops are claimed and sold in the same minute by sybil farms, so the project gains no real holders. Tenure pays only after holding time has actually accrued, in USDT, with nothing to sell at claim.

Tenure vs quest platforms (Zealy, Galxe and similar)

Quest platforms count wallets and actions: a follow, a repost, a one-dollar swap. Tenure counts verified people holding on an exchange account over time. Quest platforms cannot see exchange balances at all.

Tenure vs exchange HODL and launchpool programs

Exchange programs see balances and verify users, but they are available only to tokens the exchange selects, their rules are not always clear and rewards often need a claim step. Tenure is open to any listed token on a supported exchange, states the full terms of every program to its holders and pays USDT automatically.

Tenure vs staking

Staking locks tokens in a contract and pays in the same token, usually creating sell pressure at unlock. Tenure leaves tokens on the exchange account, requires no lock and pays USDT from a pool the project funded.

Tenure vs market-making or volume incentives

Volume incentives pay for trades and can cross into wash trading. Tenure never pays for trades, orders or turnover and cannot reference price. It pays only for balance × time.

Tenure — частые вопросы (RU)

Что такое Tenure

Что такое Tenure?

Rewards are marketing payments made by the project running a program and are disclosed as such. Tenure never holds holders' tokens and never trades with their keys. Tenure may not be available in some countries.
